WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible:

Is the inspired Word of God, the only guide and rule of our faith and practice. We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are given by God's inspiration, and in the original writings they are without error. We believe the Scriptures originated with God but were written by the instrumentality of people and therefore speak with the authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of the human authors.

The Triune-God:

Equal in every divine attribute as three distinct persons executing distinct but harmonious offices as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ:

Has made provision for salvation to everyone who believes (John 6:37). That salvation is by God’s grace alone and is received through sincere, Godly repentance, confession of faith in and wholehearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-13). We believe Jesus is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. We believe He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now acts as the only mediator between God and people.

The Holy Spirit:

Ministers as the third person of the Trinity applying to people the saving work of Christ. He does this by bringing conviction of a person's need for the forgiveness of Christ. He regenerates their heart and then permanently indwells them when they believe. His ongoing work is to guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. We believe that the measure of fully following Christ is a more loving person displaying the fruit of the Spirit of God (Matthew 22:37, Galatians 5:22-23). Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control are the indicators of spiritual maturity, and we believe it is normative for followers of Jesus to be growing in all of these areas.

Water Baptism:

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is commanded by God, not as a saving ordinance, but as an outward confession of faith in response to Godly repentance, confession of faith in and wholehearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Lord’s Supper:

Also called Communion, is a type of the broken body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, is commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ, and that all Christian believers, regardless of church affiliation, may partake of the Lord’s Supper.

The Church:

Is only one, and universal, composed of all people who have asked Jesus Christ for forgiveness and made Him leader of their lives. The diversity of all believers working together, using their gifts to build up one another, form the part of the body of Christ, the Church. The scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of God's Word, using our gifts to build up one another, outreach, communion, and baptism. Wherever God's people meet in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the church. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.

God Heals:

The sick, in answer to believing prayer, is provided for in the atonement, and that God is willing to, and does heal today.

The Rapture of the Church:

The entire, global body of confessed believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and in the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The Final judgment:

Where all will stand before God.

The “Great Commission” of Jesus Christ:

Go into all the world and preach the Gospel (Good News) to every creature” (Mark16:15), is a commandment given to every follower of Jesus Christ.

The Command of the Lord        Jesus Christ:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-40).
